About
The City Arts & Cultural Centre is the old provincial hall directly behind the Three Kings Monument, in the middle of the Old City, and it's the best place to get the city's story straight before you start temple-hopping. The building opened in 1919 as the Monthon Payap government offices, later served as City Hall, and reopened as a museum in 1999. Inside, the exhibition rooms cover the history and culture of Chiang Mai and the north. It's easy to fit into a morning in the Old City, and a good choice on a rainy day.
