Buak Hard Public Park

Airport & Nong Hoi · Airport / Nong Hoi / Nim City

About

Nong Buak Haad is the small green park tucked into the south-west corner of the Old City, beside the moat on Arak Road, and it's the nearest proper park if you're staying inside the walls. It started life as a reservoir, and in 1985 the municipality landscaped it into the public park you see now, with ponds and lawns across about 12 rai. In the early morning and evening it fills with joggers and people exercising, and each February it hosts the city's Flower Festival. It's a pleasant spot to sit in the shade between temples, and it costs nothing.
