The North Gate Jazz Co-Op

North Gate Jazz Co-Op is the city's best-known jazz bar, a tiny room by Chang Phueak Gate where the crowd spills out onto the pavement. Bands play most nights from about 8:30 or 9pm to midnight, and entry is usually free. Tuesday is the open jam, when anyone from local students to visiting pros might sit in. Get there early for a seat, or just stand outside with a beer like everyone else.
