Chai is a two-storey restaurant and music bar in a handsome corner building on Prapokklao Road at Chiang Mai Gate. The look is cosy vintage, and there's live music every night: jazz, rock covers and Thai pop, sometimes traditional Lanna players, often followed by a DJ. Food is Thai, and the drinks list runs to cold beer and cocktails. Come for the music after a walk through the Chiang Mai Gate night market.
